Before you start
- Use the Early Access game; the older demo's feature list does not establish fishing access.
- For the three September 25 weapon additions, check that your installed game is v0.1.0.2 or later.
Prepare a first cast
The developer says rod and bait quality affect the type of catch. That supports comparing equipment, but does not establish a best rod, best bait or guaranteed weapon catch.
- Find and craft an available fishing rod. Check the recipe displayed in your build; the developer post does not give the station, ingredients or unlock requirement.
- Collect bait. The developer describes catchable critters serving this purpose, but does not identify every valid bait item or its catch location.
- Cast into a nearby body of water using the current controls. Exact casting and reeling inputs still need a recorded gameplay check.

Weapon loot added September 25 Reveal solution / story details
The same patch adds Dagger, Fine Dagger, Trident and Regents Sword upgrade recipes. It does not map each catch to an upgrade, list costs or establish that every named recipe starts with a fishing weapon. Check the actual recipe before collecting materials.

| Rusty Dagger | Added as fishing loot in v0.1.0.2. |

If you cannot reproduce a catch
See the Seafood Platter guide for Sagestone’s correction about water-dependent catches.
Keep setup failure separate from a missing rare result. Record whether the rod can cast, bait is consumed and any catch arrives. If fishing works but a weapon does not appear, a short unsuccessful session cannot establish that the weapon is unavailable.
For a useful comparison, record the build, water location, rod, bait, casts and results. Change one variable at a time. Kingy has not performed this experiment, so this page does not turn a small sample into a drop-rate claim.
