Saves and starting over

Delverium demo saves: import a character, start a new world

First-launch character import and Sagestone's manual recovery path when the one-time prompt was skipped.

Steam Early Access · released September 21, 2026 PDT · update v0.1.0.1 checked September 24 · Updated 2026-09-24

The short answer

Delverium can import a demo character on first launch when the demo and valid character saves are on the same PC. If you skipped that one-time prompt, Sagestone documented a manual copy of the demo player save to the full game's Windows save folder. Protect any full-game saves before copying; demo worlds cannot transfer. The developer still recommends a fresh character for the best experience.

Use the documented import opportunity

The expected result is an imported character available for the full game, not a recreated demo settlement. Kingy has checked the developer’s written instructions but has not performed an import.

  1. Before starting a game in Early Access for the first time, keep the demo installed on the same PC with its valid demo character save.
  2. Launch Early Access and look for Import Character Saves before starting a game.
  3. Use that option if you want the character, or create a new character for the developer-recommended fresh start.
  4. Begin in an Early Access world; the demo world cannot be imported.

If Import Character Saves is missing

The launch announcement promises the prompt only before the first full-game session. A player who skipped it said reinstalling did not bring it back. Sagestone later described a manual character-save copy and a separate reset that deletes all local and cloud-synced full-game saves. Preserve your current game before considering either path; do not copy a demo world into Early Access.

  1. Check the two stated conditions: the demo is installed on this PC and a valid demo character save exists here.
  2. Check whether you have already started a game in Early Access. The announcement only promises the option before the first game.
  3. If you skipped the prompt, use the manual player-save instructions below. Do not uninstall or delete existing worlds in an attempt to make the prompt reappear.

Copy a demo character after skipping the prompt

These are Sagestone's September 21 Windows file-copy instructions, not a Kingy-tested import. The developer warns that cloud sync and file conflicts can complicate a reset. A player confirmed the destructive reset worked, but the thread does not confirm the manual copy; stop if a destination file would be overwritten.

  1. Exit both games. Back up your existing full-game Delverium folder outside the save directory before changing any files.
  2. In the Steam library, right-click Delverium Demo, choose Manage then Browse local files, and open Users, your Steam ID folder, Saves, then Player. Copy the demo player-save file you want to keep.
  3. In Windows Explorer, paste %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Sagestone Games\Delverium into the address bar. Open Users, the same Steam ID folder, Saves, then Player.
  4. Paste the copied player-save file only if it does not replace a different full-game file. Keep the originals and backup. Launch Early Access and check whether the character appears in a new full-game world.
  5. If a folder or save is missing, or Windows asks to replace a file, stop and compare the paths in Sagestone's linked reply before making further changes.
