Underpass Mysterious Dog: find her and return the toy

Have Shift and Reach available. This route uses gravity changes and a grappling point on the return. Ability-unlock missions are omitted to avoid story spoilers. These requirements follow PowerPyx’s Underpass walkthrough; the earliest possible story state has not been checked.

The dragon toy is on the opposing gravity surface above the dog. Destructoid’s illustrated guide corroborates the ceiling location. Follow this single route from PowerPyx:

The pickup and return sequence, approximately 5:01–5:33, shows this order in apparently continuous footage. The toy reaches the dog’s floor before the player returns via the side ledge. Check your quest log before leaving; the recording moves to the next chapter without opening that log.

If the toy is no longer in your hands, look on the dog’s floor before repeating the climb: releasing it is part of this route. A missing toy’s reset behavior has not been verified, so this guide does not prescribe a reload or fast-travel fix.

1. Beside the dog, locate the pillar with orange pipes and a white radiator.
2. Jump from the radiator toward the ceiling and use Shift to reach the opposite surface. Collect the toy.
3. With the toy held, look toward the dog’s paper-strewn floor overhead. Jump toward it and use Drop Object while airborne. The toy crosses to the dog’s floor; the player falls back onto the opposing surface. Use your displayed binding; buttons differ by control scheme.
4. Turn toward the ledge at the side and use Reach on its grappling point. After landing, cross the opening back onto the dog’s platform. This returns you separately from the toy.
5. Pick up the toy beside the scattered papers, carry it to the dog’s bed, and place it there. Then interact with the dog.

The player below covers the checked pickup and return, approximately 5:01–5:33. PowerPyx’s full Underpass chapter is 3:58–5:33. Written walkthroughs support the location and route. PowerPyx’s sequence from approximately 5:01 to 5:33 was followed at quarter speed without seeking, using successive browser screenshots. It shows the climb, pickup, airborne release, separate side-ledge return, toy recovery, bed placement, and dog interaction. No cut was observed within that sequence; a dissolve introduces the next chapter afterward. This is a visual continuity check, not a frame-by-frame edit audit or an in-game play-test. The entire Underpass chapter and the alternative SquaresQuest route were not reviewed uninterrupted. No exact game build, cross-platform behavior, required completion time, or toy-reset method was established.

GamesRadar describes cancelling the inversion to return; KeenGamer describes a route through openings. Those alternatives have not been combined with the directions above. Neither is declared invalid.

Community checks produced no usable Underpass-specific correction. SquaresQuest displayed no comments; the two visible PowerPyx top-level comments concerned breeds and an outfit, and their replies were not expanded. A Reddit creator post could not be retrieved, and a targeted Steam search found no usable matching report. These limited checks do not establish that the encounter is bug-free.
