The short answer
Dylan is the only playable protagonist in Resonant. Learn its melee weapon and movement systems on their own terms. Jesse remains central to the story, but this is not her original combat loadout.

The practical changes to expect
The sequel puts Dylan in an expanded Manhattan, using a melee Aberrant and selectable supernatural abilities. Different objectives and build choices support different approaches. The original Service Weapon’s forms, ammo behaviour and build advice are not a verified guide to Resonant.
Reveal a short original-game recap Reveal solution / story details
Jesse entered the Oldest House, the Federal Bureau of Control’s headquarters, during the Hiss crisis and became its director. Her brother Dylan had been held by the Bureau and was overtaken by the Hiss. Jesse stopped that crisis; Dylan was left in a coma. Resonant follows his awakening and search for his missing sister.
Remedy published a Previously on CONTROL recap on September 11. Use the official news link below if you prefer its fuller video summary.
Keep the new names straight
| Name | What to remember |
|---|---|
| Zoe De Vera | Dylan’s FBC field handler. |
| Resonants | Major enemies tied to combat-ability rewards. |
| The Gap | Dylan’s build and Artifact crafting space. |
Start with the tools you have
Our recommendation: use the first-session and Aberrant guides before opening story explanations. Keep notes of unfamiliar names, then revisit the recap when the game introduces the relevant connection. A complete lore chronology and ending interpretation will need released-game evidence.
