Alpha capture rates: which Aniipod changes the odds
The published Alpha formula is 6% × the Aniipod multiplier. That gives 6% with a basic pod, 9% with Pro and 12% with Hyper, Trace or Mega. Ultra and Sparkling Cube are listed as guaranteed-success items.

Use the Alpha formula, not the ordinary formula
The official page gives Alpha its own formula with only the Alpha base and pod multiplier. Its separate ordinary formulas include additional level, HP, status and backstab terms. Do not import those terms into an Alpha calculation merely because they help elsewhere.
These are capture probabilities for eligible throws. They do not measure whether an Alpha spawns, whether a fight is won or whether a capture opportunity becomes available.
| Pod | Published effect | Calculated capture chance |
|---|---|---|
| Aniipod | ×1 | 6% |
| Aniipod Pro | ×1.5 | 9% |
| Hyper / Trace / Mega | ×2 | 12% |
| Tumbler, ordinary case | ×2 | 12% |
| Aniipod Ultra / Sparkling Cube | Guaranteed success | Guaranteed, for an eligible use |

Prepare before the capture window
Choose the resource you are willing to spend before the encounter. If keeping the creature matters more than conserving the scarce item, compare the guaranteed-success options with repeated ordinary throws. A Cube also has Sparkling effects; check whether you want those on this target.
Tumbler has a separate ×6 rule for Aniimo gathered by Nurture. Do not apply that condition to every Alpha simply because both mechanics appear on the same probability page.
- Confirm that the encounter is an Alpha and that the game has opened a capture opportunity.
- Read the selected pod and target feedback.
- Use the Alpha-specific formula for ordinary pod comparisons.
- After the attempt, verify the capture notification and owned creature. A defeated Alpha alone is not a capture receipt.

Avoid the “twelve percent means eight throws” mistake
At a fixed independent 12% chance, eight attempts yield about a 64.0% chance of at least one success: 1 − 0.88^8. This calculation does not say that a given encounter permits eight throws, keeps the target available, or guarantees success by a fixed attempt.
Use the live encounter rules first. A repeated-roll model cannot supply a missing timer, throw limit or recovery mechanic.
