Warframe Riven Trading Disabled: Failed to Make Offer, Reopening and Build Changes

Quick answer

DE has switched off Riven trading on purpose until the hotfix it scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2026. Until then, any Riven trade attempt returns "Failed to make offer". It isn't a problem with your account, so retrying or contacting support won't help. The hotfix is set to give every Riven the stat range of a 1.2 disposition and cap Ammo Efficiency at 75%; neither is live yet.

Before you start

From DE's Dev Workshop posted October 20, 2026, checked October 20, 2026. Nothing here was tested in game: the hotfix isn't out, and Kingy hasn't traded a Riven during the pause.

Why Riven trades say "Failed to make offer"

DE switched off Riven trading on October 20, 2026 because the disposition change alters what every Riven is worth, and it wants players to know that before they trade. While the pause lasts, trying to trade a Riven shows "Failed to make offer". DE says trading comes back with the hotfix it scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2026, about 48 hours after the announcement.

DE's post names Riven trades only. It says nothing about other items, so this page doesn't claim anything else is blocked, or guaranteed to work.

What to do until trading reopens

Stop retrying the Riven trade. The block is deliberate, so more attempts won't get it through.
Skip the support ticket for this error during the pause. DE has already explained it.
Hold off agreeing Riven prices. Once the hotfix lands, many Rivens change value; the checker below shows which way yours moves.
After October 22, check DE's patch notes for your platform before you trade a Riven again.

Not a Riven? Other reasons a trade can fail

These limits come from the community-run Warframe Wiki, not from DE's post, and the wiki doesn't tie each one to the exact "Failed to make offer" text. They still apply to Riven trades once trading reopens.

Check	What the wiki says
Mastery Rank and 2FA	Both players need Mastery Rank 2 or higher and two-factor authentication turned on to trade at all.
Daily trade limit	You get as many trades a day as your Mastery Rank. The count resets at 00:00 UTC.
Rivens need MR 8	Riven mods trade only when both players are Mastery Rank 8 or higher.
Weapon and blueprint MR	Blueprints and tradable weapons can't go to a buyer below their Mastery Rank requirement.
Distance in a Dojo	A buyer more than about 50 m away in a Dojo can be read as MR 0, a known bug that shows "Partner Locked".
Free slots	The buyer needs a free Riven or weapon slot for each Riven or weapon they receive.

Riven disposition is being retired (announced)

Status on October 20: announced, not live. DE says the hotfix removes per-weapon dispositions. Every Riven will share one set of stat ranges, the same as a 1.2 disposition gives today, and DE plans no further adjustments. After that, a Riven only changes when you reroll it.

DE describes disposition as a multiplier on each stat. Weapons below 1.2 get stronger Rivens and weapons above 1.2 get slightly weaker ones. DE's own examples: Nataruk (0.65) and Grimoire (0.6) rise a lot, AX-52 (0.85) and Staticor (0.9) rise a little, and Burston Prime (1.35), Dual Ichor (1.25), Harpak (1.55) and Heat Sword drop to 1.2.

Across DE's full list of 632 weapons, 306 go up, 278 go down and 48 are listed as unchanged.

Will my Riven go up or down?

Search DE's full list by weapon name, narrow it by weapon type, or show only the weapons going up, going down or staying the same. Variants such as Kuva, Prime, Tenet and Coda weapons have their own rows.

“Each stat” is Kingy's arithmetic, 1.2 ÷ old disposition, from DE's description of Disposition as a multiplier on each stat. DE did not publish these percentages; check your Riven in game after the hotfix.

Source and corrections

Numbers from Dev Workshop: Ammo Efficiency Changes & Riven Disposition Retirement, Digital Extremes ([DE]Connor) on the official Warframe forums, posted October 20, 2026 and checked 2026-10-20. Kingy fixed these entries:

Gammacor:1.15->1.2: Missing space after the colon in DE's list; value unchanged.
Vasto 1.4->1.2: Missing colon after the name in DE's list; value unchanged.
Ack & Brunt: 1.35-1.2: DE wrote "1.35-1.2" without the arrow; read as 1.35 to 1.2.
Dual Kama Prime: 1.25->1.2: DE wrote "Dual Kama Prime"; the weapon is Dual Kamas Prime.
Mk1-Furax: 1.45->1.2: DE wrote "Mk1-Furax"; every other MK1 weapon in the list uses "MK1-".
Heat Sword: 1.48->1.2: DE's full list says 1.48; the examples earlier in the same post say 1.45. Either way it goes down to 1.2.
Stinger 1.32->1.2: Missing colon after the name in DE's list; value unchanged.

Ammo Efficiency capped at 75% (announced)

The same hotfix is set to cap Ammo Efficiency at 75% from all sources combined: 1 shot in 4 still uses ammo. Stacking more sources won't take you past the cap, and DE says it covers everything that uses ammo, Necramechs and Amps included.

DE's stated reason is automated play. It wants infinite ammo to be an occasional buff in a mission rather than a permanent part of a build, and Riven Splicers had made 100% Ammo Efficiency much easier to reach.

Sources that still give Infinite Ammo

DE says these keep working as they do now; only their descriptions change to say Infinite Ammo instead of 100% Ammo Efficiency.
