Ratatan Episode 2 unlock: World 5, Oath Level and the Bonboya Gate

The short answer

The Steam Early Access v0.7.10 note requires both a first Episode 1 clear through World 5 and Goddess’ Game Oath Level 1 or higher. Reaching World 5 is insufficient. After the applicable update, start with both conditions met; the episode switch is above Rataport’s Bonboya Gate.

Check your Episode 2 prerequisites

Use the values shown on your current save. This checker applies documented Steam PC Early Access rules to your answers; it does not inspect your game. Version 1.0 and console behavior need separate evidence. In v0.7.6 multiplayer, the owner’s Episode and Oath settings govern even when a joiner’s display is out of sync.

Edition and update

For a later or unknown build, check its official notes or in-game requirements. Selecting Yes records your report; it does not establish compatibility with every later patch.

Two requirements on the same save

Check your first Episode 1 completion and Oath Level separately. A completed World 5 with Oath Level 0 still misses the second condition. An Oath setting on another save does not establish this save’s progress. The checker below evaluates what you report; it cannot inspect your save. In v0.7.6 multiplayer, a joiner’s displayed Episode or Oath Level can differ from the owner’s settings even though play uses the owner’s settings; confirm with the owner before diagnosing that display.

From Rataport to the episode switch

The v0.5.2 notes place Goddess Games at Rataport and describe it as post-World-5 content. Oaths change difficulty. Level 1 is the documented minimum for this unlock, not a tested recommendation for every run.

  1. Confirm an Episode 1 clear through World 5 on the save you want to use.
  2. At Rataport, open Goddess Games through its NPC and check or raise the Oath Level to at least 1.
  3. Make sure the applicable progression update is installed, then start the game with both conditions met.
  4. Look above Rataport’s Bonboya Gate for the episode-switch UI.

If you are searching inventory for Episode 2 key items, check the upper part of Rataport’s Bonboya Gate instead. The v0.7.6 notes describe items slotted there as the episode’s progress display. This explains where to check; it does not establish every item’s acquisition route.

Both conditions met, but Episode 2 is absent

The hotfix repaired eligible saves not exposing Episode 2 and missing requirement text in some languages. Those are dated fixes, not proof that every later symptom has the same cause. Kingy has not reproduced a failing save or tested a universal repair.

  1. Record your game edition, version, language and the two prerequisite states.
  2. Compare your installed update with the v0.7.10 progression fix; check the current official feed for a later applicable change.
  3. If the documented path still fails, retain those details for the game’s support or feedback form instead of deleting your save.
