GONE Fishing 1.0: what changed, saves and the November 20 deadline

Quick answer

1.0 launched October 20, 2026 with an ending and final boss, 8 trinkets, the Rhizo mythic fish, a reworked Yeti, fish traps, the musket and new hats. Old saves still work, but GONE Studios recommends a new save, and old saves can't be migrated after November 20. Saves are now encrypted, and leaderboards and profiles were wiped. The US price is $9.99, or $6.69 until November 3.

What 1.0 added

  1. An ending and a final boss, started with a new bait from Jeb.
  2. Season 1.0 and the Rhizo, a mythic fish in deep Lake water that needs the MOBY.
  3. Eight trinkets from Clinket the Trader, shared across co-op.
  4. A reworked Yeti on the Arctic that asks for tribute and escalates if you don't pay.
  5. Bait traps that refill overnight, a new Fish Trap that catches fish while you sleep, and a Jeb upgrade for up to 3 fish per bait.
  6. A hat and achievement for every legendary and mythic fish, plus level-up hats.
  7. The musket: one shot that kills most creatures, friends included, from Skeeter or map loot.
  8. Journal V2, Tackle Box V2 and a new invite screen.

Keep your old save or start fresh?

Early Access saves still load and can reach all the new content, but GONE Studios strongly recommends a new save. After November 20, old saves can no longer be migrated to the new version.

Saves are now encrypted, so hex and .sav editors no longer work. The game migrates and encrypts an old save on first launch and makes a backup. If you back up by hand, copy every file that belongs to the save, not just one.

Leaderboard wipe and anti-cheat

Leaderboards and player profiles were reset for Season 1.0; some legacy data stays viewable. New checks detect cheat tools such as WeMod, and flagged players are shadowbanned: only they can see their catches. The store page lists server-side anti-cheat for leaderboard integrity.

Same-day hotfix

Posted a few hours after launch: when anyone catches a legendary or mythic fish, everyone in the lobby now gets the achievement. It also fixed trader textures on the final boss map, and the upgraded butcher table now gives two hearts instead of one.

October 21 fixes: Yeti, bait and the Megalodon hat

The post also fixes a final boss attack that could hit you while invisible (details in the spoiler boss guide). It gives no build number, and Kingy hasn't checked these fixes in game yet.

  1. You can take bait off your hook again; a bug had stopped you unequipping it.
  2. The Yeti spawns on the Arctic map again; a bug had stopped it appearing there.
  3. The crocodile on the Lake map no longer drags you into a cliff and throws you under the map.
  4. Item text no longer runs over item prices.
  5. The Journal works in every language again; it was broken for some.
  6. The Megalodon hat you unlock is now visible and selectable.

October 22 buffs: cheaper upgrades and better gambling

GONE Studios says players were struggling with early progression. The same post makes the final boss easier (details in the spoiler boss guide). No build number is given, and Kingy hasn't checked these changes in game yet.

  1. A third of the shop's items are 30% cheaper. The post doesn't say which ones.
  2. Line, rod and sinker upgrades cost 15% less, and the level 7 upgrade for each got its own 10% cut.
  3. Your chance to win when gambling went up by 8%.
  4. Skeeter trades give a musket twice as often.
  5. The troll now starts showing up on day 2 instead of day 3.
  6. The Arctic's monster spawn rates and spots changed so you meet them more often.
  7. Fixes: the face jumper runs off after leaping from you, the BossBaby bait only catches what it's meant to, and the end-game trader no longer breaks up during cutscenes.

Co-op prices and quota got cheaper

Prices used to scale with the number of players. In 1.0 they scale at about value × (players ÷ 2): with four players, a 100-gold upgrade costs about 200 instead of 400. Quota no longer grows in a straight line with group size either; the new formula isn't published.
