How to beat the Fallen

Quick answer

The Fallen fights in two phases, and the second starts at half health. In phase one, dodge forward through his leaping claw combo and hit his back, and break his Unholy Cross with melee; in phase two, dodge forward under the whip lash and step away from his ceiling dive, then punish him as he lands.

Before you start

  • One strategy guide recommends carrying at least three Health Vials.
  • Kingy has not played the released game; the strategy comes from one written guide and the launch gameplay video below, with location and rewards from a community boss list.

Where you fight him

A community boss list places the Fallen on the Path of the Rat in the Paris Streets and lists the Arcane Whip and the Holy Cross as his rewards. That list says it is incomplete, and no second source confirms the location or rewards yet.

Phase two: the whip

One guide says a short cutscene at half health starts phase two and adds two whip attacks.

  1. Whip Strike: the lash covers most of the arena, so don't back away. Dodge forward under it when you see the wind-up.
  2. Whip Swing: he swings up to the ceiling and dives at you. Wait near a corner to draw the dive, walk toward the middle as he comes down, then hit him while he recovers from the landing.

On screen: The Fallen leaves Rose's side, hangs from a whip on the ceiling ring at the upper left while she waits mid-room, then lands on the left and she strikes him.
