Choose where to collect
If you want collected items to continue into other modes of the full game, use Free Mode in the full release. Koei Tecmo names growth items, equipment and weapons as carrying over. The separate demo cannot transfer its save into the full release.
| Where you play | What carries over | Useful next choice |
|---|---|---|
| Full release · Free Mode | Collected growth items, equipment and weapons carry into other game modes. | Choose this for collection you want to keep using in the full game. |
| Separate demo | Its save data cannot transfer into the full release. | Use it to try the special scenario; plan to start the full game separately. |

Keep item collection separate from story completion
Free Mode lets you select an officer and scenario, including hypothetical sides that differ from the officer’s usual allegiance. The official carryover sentence covers the collected categories below. It does not supply a story-credit or unlock procedure.
| Your question | Supported answer |
|---|---|
| Growth item, equipment or weapon gathered in Free Mode? | The official US site says these carry into other game modes. |
| Does a Free Mode clear complete my Musou story or unlock an officer? | Not established by these sources. No story-credit or officer-unlock rule is supplied here. |
| Can I move a save between platforms or import an original DW3 save? | Not established. Cross-mode item collection does not answer save-file compatibility. |

The demo boundary on your platform
Each store description below explicitly says demo save data cannot be carried over to the full release. These are English Steam and US console storefront statements, checked October 1 UTC. The same rule was read independently on all four pages.
| Store description | Demo save → full release |
|---|---|
| Steam · app 4995490 | No transfer |
| PlayStation US · PS5 | No transfer |
| Nintendo US · Switch 2 | No transfer |
| Xbox US · Series X|S | No transfer |

Use the demo to try the action
The demo contains a special Battle of Hulao Gate (Allied Forces) scenario with Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Zhen Ji, Zhou Yu and Sun Shangxiang. Koei Tecmo warns that some elements differ from the full release. Completing that scenario does not provide a save you can import.
Use the full-release description for Free Mode collection. Demo combat, the original games’ unlock routes and the Japanese region’s differently numbered title cannot establish additional carryover rules. The Japanese counterpart is called 真・三國無双2 with 猛将伝 Remastered; this guide cites the US English site for the item carryover promise.

If an off-screen officer drop was missing
Koei Tecmo’s October 1 update documents a fix for collecting items from officers defeated off screen. The note is headed Ver 1.0.1 with a separate Steam Ver 1.0.0 label. Those are the publisher’s labels, not a check of the version installed on your device.
The note does not explain how to restore an item already missed. It also changes battle-conclusion events to play with unique events OFF under System, without describing recovery of a past event. Keep the patch note beside your build information if you report a problem; this guide provides no replay, save-editing or item-restoration procedure.
