A free update is not the expansion entitlement
The Naturalist Update was announced as a free update in August. Risen Ballbylon is a separate paid expansion. An installed base-game update therefore does not demonstrate that the DLC is owned or unlocked.
If access is missing at launch, record the platform, installed version, DLC entitlement and the save's completion state before looking for a fix. The precise completion flag, unlock prompt and any cross-save behavior still need release evidence. Do not erase a save to troubleshoot an unverified prerequisite.
