How to gather Wood and Corewood

Choose the right trees, keep the two materials distinct, and follow Corewood into Bronze-era tools.

The short answer

For ordinary Wood, the inspected guide recommends Beech trees with a Stone Axe. For Corewood, look for Pine trees in the Black Forest; the Core Wood guide also describes using a Stone Axe. [1][2]

Choose the right trees

Start with Beech trees for ordinary Wood. Game8 reports that a Stone Axe can chop them; its guide also describes punching young Beech trees for Wood. [1]

For Corewood, Game8 directs players to Pine trees in the Black Forest and says a Stone Axe is sufficient. Its guide warns that hostile creatures make this a more dangerous gathering trip. [2]

Choose the material you need before leaving: make a Wood run or a Corewood run, then check the linked item name before using your haul. Keep a separate note of what you gathered instead of assuming the two names are interchangeable. [1][2]
