Quick answer

Silver Pines Hotfix 1 adds a DirectX 11 launch option and reports a fix for enemies blocking the Union Apartments elevator. A separate October 10 developer reply acknowledges getting stuck after interrupted bag looting, with a patch still pending. DX11 is an official option to try, not a measured FPS improvement; neither the hotfix nor the reply verifies recovery of an already-stuck bag save.

Before you start

  • Record platform, installed version and the exact symptom. The patch notice does not supply a numeric build.
  • Keep an untouched backup before any experiment; no Kingy gameplay or affected-save test has been completed.

Match your symptom to the right evidence

The elevator obstruction and interrupted bag-looting issue are separate. A patch fixing one does not establish a repair for the other.

Try the official DirectX 11 launch option

Let Steam finish the available update. On launching Silver Pines, choose the new DirectX 11 option if investigating performance problems. Team17 recommends trying it, especially on Steam Deck, to see whether performance improves. This is publisher advice; Kingy has no matched DX11/DX12 measurements.

For a comparison, use the same copied save, route, hardware, resolution and settings for DX11 and DX12. Record frame timing and crashes separately. A store/platform label or publisher suggestion does not certify Steam Deck compatibility or better FPS.

Union Apartments elevator obstruction: announced fix

Hotfix 1 reports fixing enemies blocking the apartment elevator and a few specific softlock scenarios. Confirm the update is installed before checking a copy of an affected elevator save.

The notes do not list every softlock or say that all already-blocked saves recover. Record whether the same elevator works after updating and again after saving/reloading; do not use a fresh unrelated save as proof of recovery.

Interrupted bag looting: acknowledgement, with a patch pending

Kinori’s report describes a second-floor laundry-token bag, a stuck looting animation and prior progress toward the third-floor key. On October 10, developer knas says the team is aware and that interruption while looting appears involved, with a patch to be attempted as soon as possible. Team17 support separately escalated the report.

The player mentions damage freeing the animation. Kingy has not reproduced that result, and the developer does not prescribe it as a recovery procedure. Do not risk an existing playthrough trying to recreate the interruption. Preserve the save and report the location, build, inventory/quest state and what interrupted looting.

No released bag-looting fix, exact patch date or recovery of an already-stuck save is verified here. Keep this issue separate from Hotfix 1’s elevator fix.

What a reliable demonstration still needs

No test footage has been recorded by Kingy. Use separate copied saves for the elevator and bag symptoms, plus an untouched original. A DX11/DX12 comparison needs a matched route; a bag test needs a disposable playthrough so interruption does not risk established progress.

Record the installed build, launcher choice, symptom before/after, objectives and save/reload. Show any failure as well as success; do not narrate better FPS or save recovery until measured.
